Louis Capaldi he had a Tourette’s seizure during a concert in Germany and the audience helped him finish the song “Someone You Loved”, his biggest hit, in chorus. The Scottish artist still tried to sing the rest of the song, but ended up walking away from the microphone.

Tourette’s syndrome is characterized by motor or vocal tics, which can be simple or complex. The 26-year-old star revealed the diagnosis in September of last year. She is currently on medication to relieve the spasms.

Symptoms of Tourette’s syndrome

According to José Fernandes Vilas, specialist in neurology and clinical psychiatry, Tourette’s syndrome occurs unexpectedly. It is a neurological problem that causes sudden, rapid and repetitive movements. Symptoms can persist for more than a year and usually appear in childhood.

“Motor tics can occur most frequently in the face, neck and upper limbs. Vocal tics are sounds made by the airways and our vocal tract, such as moans, ‘throat scratching’ or any other vocal sound or word. Both they occur unexpectedly. When you have only a motor tic or only a vocal tic, we call it a simple tic. However, when the patient has both, it means Gilles de la Tourette syndrome (GTS),” he explains.
