“His body said ‘I’m leaving'”: they reveal the cause of death of Lopez Tarso

The first actor Ignacio López Tarso died at the age of 98 on the evening of Saturday March 11 after a week’s hospitalization in Mexico City.

The artist, one of the pillars of the so-called “Golden Age” of Mexican cinema, had been admitted due to intestinal obstruction and pneumonia.

Lulú Mogollón, who was the actor’s assistant, spoke to the press in Mexico to give details of the death of Mr. Ignacio López Tarso.

“Last week I was with him at his house and he was fine, he started to get sickbut we thought he would come out of it.”

He stated that the painting he presented when he was hospitalized was the cause that led to his death.

“Thursday (March 9) was when the doctors started seeing this his body started with problems until we come to the conclusion that he is gone”, he added in statements presented on “Venga la alegría” this Saturday night 11.

He had complications with pneumoniawith his kidneys, his heart, his age and well, I think his body said ‘I’m leaving’ and he left like Makarios,” his assistant said in a broken voice, referring to the character played by the artist in 1960 in the mythical film of the same name.

“Yet he entered (the hospital) vowing to leave and we take him (home),” she added, visibly moved, “but then, his candle went out.” He confirmed that one of the wishes of the actor of many soap operas and films was to reach the century of his life.

Hours before the news of his death was confirmed, Juan Ignacio Aranda, son of the actor, he reported that his father was still in intermediate treatment.

Do you have kidney, heart, lung, etc. He is semi-conscious. I can not speak. I can’t eat. I installed Vivaldi early in the morning. I was with him since 11 at night,” Milenio newspaper reported.

López Tarso’s body was taken almost midnight to a funeral home south of Mexico City, where it is reported that he will remain this Sunday the 12th to perform the funerals, according to Mexican media.

Ignacio López Tarso was dean of the entertainment world Spanish speaker with a career spanning over seven decades in theatre, film and television.
