Caterina Scorsone, known as Amelia Shepherd from the series ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, has lost four pets and her home has been destroyed in a devastating fire. On her Instagram, the actress said she only had time to save her three daughters before fleeing the tragedy.
“A few months ago, my house caught fire. As I was getting my daughters ready for bed and finishing washing them, smoke started seeping through the grout around the bathtub. When I looked out into the hallway, there ‘it was a river of thick black smoke, he had already graduated and was taking care of the house,’ said Caterina.
In the sequence, the actress emphasized that the whole tragedy happened in the blink of an eye. “One thing about fires: they happen fast. I had about two minutes to get my kids out of the house and we made it out in less than the shoes we were wearing. But we got out. And for that I will be forever grateful,” she explained, as she watched her belongings go up in flames.
With the images of the damage and of the animals that died in the fire, Caterina Scorsone made it clear that she still feels the pain of mourning. “Unfortunately, we have lost four of our pets. We are still dealing with this loss, but we are lucky that we have had the opportunity to love them,” she said.
Finally, the artist thanked all the support received from neighbors, work colleagues and relatives who came to help her. “What have we learned [com essa tragédia] it’s that the only thing that matters is the people (and beings) you love. The only thing that matters is the community. We wouldn’t be here without them and we are very grateful. Thanks,” she concluded.
