Members of the royal family are in full swing preparing for the coronation of Charles III. People have learned that Kate Middleton and Prince William’s 9-year-old first child George will carry the mantle of king. The 74-year-old British monarch will officially be crowned on May 6. The ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey in London.

George will be the chief and youngest page chosen by King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla. The special role of the 9-year-old boy is explained by the fact that the young prince is second in line to the throne after his father. Kate Middleton and Prince William were touched that the monarch wanted his grandson to play such an important role.

We are all very excited about the role of Prince George in the coronation, it will be an incredibly special moment for him, – said the representative of Kensington Palace.

The king’s page will also be 13-year-old Nicholas Barkley, the grandson of Sarah Troughton, who is one of the Queen’s companions and oldest friends. He will be joined by 13-year-old Lord Oliver Cholmondeley. His father David, Marquess of Cholmondeley was appointed Lord Receiver of the Monarch. The fourth page is 12-year-old Ralph Tollemaches, the son of the British banker and aristocrat Edward Tollemaches (the godson of the king and the honorary page of Queen Elizabeth).

All of the honorary pages of Queen Consort Camilla belong to her family. Among them are her 13-year-old grandchildren Gus and Louis Lopez, as well as Freddie Parker Bowles. The monarch’s wife’s great-nephew, 10-year-old Arthur Elliot, will be her fourth page.

Earlier it became known what roles Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis will have at the upcoming coronation of Charles III. They will accompany George, the King and Queen Consort Camilla when they leave the abbey after the service. Afterwards, the children will join their parents and, together with Kate and William, will return on the carriage, the famous Golden State Coach, to Buckingham Palace.
