People has just revealed the most curious news about Brad Pitt. The 59-year-old actor owns a 7,600 square meter piece of land in Los Angeles that he bought in 1994 for $1.7 million with Cassandra Peterson, the star of ‘Elvira: Mistress of the Dark’. There Pitt made his home in the form of a mansion, one he held for 30 years until he bought out Peterson’s share last March for $40 million.
Paterson has told People how he sold his house to his neighbor for decades, but above all how he has ended up having a most unexpected tenant. The logical thing is that someone like Pitt does not want to have many people around his home, so over the years he bought the houses in the area. According to the actress: “I think there were like 22 houses that were contiguous on the edge of the property. And whenever he could he would buy one.”
One of those properties belonged to an old man, then ninety years old. Although Pitt bought it for her, he allowed her to stay at his house completely free of charge.
He was very, very nice to that man. His wife passed away and his husband, John, lived there. I know Brad let her live there free of charge until he died.
The thing is that the arrangement was longer than expected for a ninety-year-old widower, and the man extended the agreement for another fifteen years: “It was a bit funny because John lived to be 105 years old.”
The actress jokes that the old man John “just kept living forever,” adding, “I guess Brad was thinking well, you know, he can live there until he dies, which could be anytime.”
Paterson did not want to stray too far from Pitt, and after selling him her house on the property, she bought another fence and continued as a neighbor to Pitt and the old man. Paterson claims that Pitt “was always kind and sweet” and that she even watched her prepare for “Fight Club” while she walked her dogs.

Of course, this was the home Brad Pitt shared with Angleina Jolie and raised their six children: Maddox, 21, Pax, 19, Zahara, 18, Shiloh, 16 and 14. Twins Knox and Vivienne, two year old. The couple separated in 2016 but it was not until March of this 2023 when Pitt said goodbye to the property.
