Adriane Galisteu confesses that she has vented her anxiety with cigarettes

‘It’s been nine years since I quit smoking, almost 10 years, and I thought I was going to die when I quit smoking,’ the presenter said during an interview

Presenter Adriane Galisteu, 49, participated in the podcast FabTalk, by Fabiana Justus, daughter of Roberto Justus, Tuesday 11.

During the chat, Adriane spoke about her addiction to cigarettes, which according to Vigitel 2021 data, affects people over 18, around 9.1% of the population, 11.8% men and 6.7% % women.

Adriane confessed to being very anxious and coped with her anxiety by smoking, until she realized the habit was harming her health. “I have smoked many years of my life and I have tried to hold my anxiety in the cigarette,” explained the presenter.

“It’s been nine years since I quit smoking, almost 10 years, and I thought I was going to die when I quit smoking, because I said, ‘now my anxiety is going to double.’ Where is my anxiety going to go?” asked at the time.

As usually happens, the person who quits tries to cure their anxiety or addiction with something else, and the presenter was sure that she would not focus her anxiety on food. It was then that she looked for another solution, the practice of physical activities.

“Exercise helps me a lot [porque] while you help me physically, [também] It helps my head a lot,” Adriane said.

“For a long time I trained at dawn. It made me anxious, I went on the treadmill to run, to try to avoid that anguish that is quitting smoking. Quitting smoking is very difficult, it was one of the most hard things I’ve done in my life, and that business of quitting smoking. I’m proud that I did it, but I know it’s not an easy task.”
