‘She is everything, he is just Ken’
‘Barbie’ pink has already become the official color of summer 2023. Greta Gerwig’s new film, starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, will bring the mythical Mattel doll to life, and the networks are already burning with every news that emerges about her.
The last promotional success of the film came in its presentation of the CinemaConon April 25, when the leading duo appeared on the red carpet, combined with the corporate color of the film, becoming the star couple of the evening.
Robbie wore an outfit gingham prada rosemade up of a miniskirt and a checked top, while goslin (bringing off the film’s catchphrase, ‘She’s everything, he’s just Ken’), leaving the focus on his partner and appeared with a T-shirt that could read: ‘GRETA GERWIG’, with the typography of the film, a pink jacket and a simple jean with beige boots.
Accustomed to being the protagonists of numerous memes since the announcement of the shooting (who could forget those viral photos of the two performers on skates on Venice Beach), Gosling and Robbie have already accepted that the destiny of this film is to succeed.
Despite the few months left until its premiere, and the amount of promotion that is being done, the synopsis of the film remains unknown. Information is arriving with droppers and this has become the best way to keep everyone attentive to each step they take along the way.
What we do know is that Margot Robbie’s Barbie will be kicked out of barbieland by not complying with the perfection requirements that are stipulated. From what can be seen in the trailerwill be accompanied by Ryan Gosling’s Ken, who sneaks into his famous convertible, before his departure for the outside world.
Greta Gerwig has signed as director other great recent successes such as the remake from ‘Little Women’ from 2019, in which we were able to see great performers such as Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, Timothée Chalamet or Meryl Streep, in the shoes of the protagonists. In addition, we have also been able to see her in the facet of her actress in titles such as ‘Frances Ha’.
The cast that has been assembled for ‘Barbie’ also includes Simu Liu, America Ferrara, Kate McKinnon, Ariana Greenblatt, Alexandra Shipp, Will Ferrell, Emma Mackey, Rhea Perlman, Ncuti Gatwa, Emerald Fennell, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Scott Evans and Michael Cera.
