Last weekend, the eldest son of Elizabeth II, Charles, whom we now call Charles in the German manner, and his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, were crowned in Westminster Abbey. On the occasion of the historic celebration, the British Royal Family appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, as well as a grand concert with the participation of popular artists the next day. And already on Monday, the first official portrait of Charles III after the coronation was published in the official account of the monarchs.

The portrait, which was made by royal photographer Hugo Bernard, is fully consistent with the classical canon. In the photo, Charles is depicted in a crown and mantle with the main regalia of the reigning monarch: a scepter and an orb. Camilla also received a separate portrait. By the way, in the official account of the royal family, she is now called “queen” without the addition of “consort”.
In addition to individual portraits, Buckingham Palace also published a new group photo, which lit up the King and Queen, Prince William and Kate Middleton, Princes Andrew and Edward, Princess Anne, Countess Sophie of Wessex, Vice Admiral Timothy Lawrence and others.
