Devoted to Catholicism, actress Myrian Rios shares moments of her pilgrimage to the East
Actress, writer and former MP Myrian Rios, 64, embarked on a faith-renewing journey in Israel, where she visited the holy places of Christianity.
Accompanied by her youngest son, Pedro Arthur, 21, born of her relationship with actor André Gonçalves, she also visited Egypt and Turkey.
Coming from a Catholic family, the artist has participated in religious movements and divides her artistic career and her missionary work.
In Bethlehem, Myrian visited the cave where Christ was born, in the Basilica of the Nativity, according to his followers. “Imagine kissing the place where Jesus was born for our salvation,” he commented on a social media.
He also visited the site of the crucifixion and death of the son of God and the stone where his body would be washed after being removed from the cross.
Myrian Rios shares her devotion to Catholicism with her ex-husband, Roberto Carlos. They were married from 1979 to 1989. The two read the Bible together, especially when the singer composed songs with a religious content.
