A few hours ago, the Royal Palace of Sweden posted on social media a new portrait of Princess Madeleine, who is celebrating her 40th birthday today. However, in the photo, the Duchess of Helsingland looks much younger than her years. In the frame, she shines in a soft pink floral dress with frills and an embroidered coral collar. The birthday girl completed her summer look with elegant silver stud earrings.
It is worth noting that the Swedish royal family does not often publish official staged portraits – the exceptions are big holidays, such as weddings and birthdays. Although in March of this year, without reference to the occasion, a new photo session of King Carl XVI Gustaf with his wife Queen Silvia and the heirs to the throne, Princesses Madeleine and Sofia, as well as Crown Princess Victoria, and their children was published. In the pictures, members of the royal family shone in luxurious outfits and family jewelry.
Princess Madeleine has been married to American economist Chris O’Neill since 2013. They met a year earlier in a common company, and friendly communication grew into personal meetings, which took place more and more often. The lovers carefully concealed their relationship, only the closest knew about them. The couple have three children – 8-year-old Leonor, 6-year-old Nicholas Paul Gustav and 4-year-old Adrienne.
Princess Madeleine is second in line to the throne after her sister, Crown Princess Victoria.
