Shakira once again expressed the great love she feels for him his father, Don William Mebarakthis year September 6, the day the author turns 92 years old.
The Colombian singer dedicated a short message to congratulate him where he clarified that he is not only his father, but also his “best friend”.
“Happy birthday to my best friend and the love of my life!” is the text accompanied by a tender photo where the singer of ‘I congratulate you’ caresses her father’s face.
The health of Shakira’s father
In May 2022, William Mebarak suffered fall that caused serious health complications. In June of that year he underwent surgery in Barcelona to remove some clots that had formed as a result of the accident.
In October, the Colombian issued a statement to confirm that her father was in hospital and asked for “respect” in the face of her family’s delicate moment.
William Mebarak underwent surgery at a hospital in Cartagena, Colombia in June 2023 to have a Hakim valve implanted to help him deal with the hydrocephalus that plagues him.
Since then, little is known about the health status of Shakira’s father and if he will continue in Colombia.
