Sandy reflects on fame and the end of the duo with Junior, especially on Globo: ‘I was massacred’

“I was scared of the size, of people’s excitement because there would be a new tour. We stopped with great success. When we decided, we left ‘orphan fans’, in quotes. So, I knew there were a lot of people are miss you,” he explained.

Sandy confessed to feeling very insecure at the beginning of her solo career. “When I look at things from the beginning of my career, I think I’m very sober,” she said. “After that I started to relax more.”

Fame and visibility

At one point, Bial asked how the singer deals with criticism. “There are many injustices and this consumes me a lot. I get very angry. But I have always been very careful, I have been in therapy since I was 18”, she replied.

“When I tried to choose to preserve my privacy I was massacred in the press and on social media. When I got married I wanted to do everything in a personal, private way. I was criticized a lot, I had the reputation of being hostile. I was held responsible”, Sandy said.

According to her, the situation worsened when she decided not to publish photos of her son on the Internet: “And then, when my son was born, they charged me three times more, ten times more. I’m still being charged today because I don’t post his picture on the internet. He’s a normal kid, he goes to school. He’s out there in the world, but I don’t put their picture up.”
