June “Mama June” Shannon’s oldest daughterAnna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell, died aged 29 this Saturday, December 9th.
The young woman he had stage 4 cancer. It was his own mother who confirmed this news on Sunday 10.
This is how “Mama June” says goodbye to her eldest daughter.
The reality star took to Instagram to announce the sad news.
” With a broken heartannouncing that Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell is no longer with us,” he wrote the famous matriarch of the series ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’.
” He died at my house last night peacefully at 11:12 p.m.,” he announced.
” He fought hard for 10 months. and she died surrounded by her family,” the TV star said.
“We will update you all with more information as we receive it today. We love you all and continue to pray and think about our family (during) this difficult time,” the 44-year-old said.
Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ mourns the loss of her sister
His famous sister, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’also published before the departure of Anna Cardwell.
“This is a post I wish I didn’t have to make,” she posted on Instagram along with a broken heart emoji.
“Last night we all surround Anna with love and we informed him that it was ok for him to go. Unfortunately, around 23.00 Anna breathed her last,” shared the 18-year-old.
” Anna was in a lot of pain last night.but now, as a family, we all know he is at peace,” she continued.
“I really don’t know what to say because my heart is completely broken. Watching my 29-year-old sister battle this horrible disease last year was not easy,” she confessed.
“I know you will always make me in heaven!” He added, “We will all make sure your legacy lives on forever. And I promise to always make sure we celebrate our birthdays as if you were never gone! Heaven looks a little different today. We will always love you Anna.”
“Mama June” asked for prayers for her daughter the day before she died
Anna Cardwell’s death came just a day later “Mama June” asked for prayers to his fans amid his daughter’s battle with cancer.
“I just want you to know that some things have changed in (our lives) in the last few weeks, things that are completely out of our control,” he said in a video message he made on Friday 8.
It had been reported since last March that Cardwell had been diagnosed stage 4 adrenal carcinoma. He is survived by his two daughters: Kaitlyn Elizabeth (11) and Kylee Madison (8).
‘Mama June’s’ family rose to fame with the reality show ‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ which aired in the US on the TLC network for 4 seasons from 2012.
It was a spin-off from ‘Toddler’s & Tiara’s’ in which Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson rose to fame.
