Preta Gil underwent his last operation in a hospital in the south of Sao Paulo on Thursday (30)
Preta Gil announced on Monday (11) that his treatment for bowel cancer has come to an end. Most recently, she underwent reconstruction of part of her intestinal tract at the Sírio-Libanês Hospital in the capital of São Paulo.
“I am still undergoing rehabilitation and will remain under medical care for five years, during which I will have my routine follow-up, but which is common for cancer patients like me”she said.
“I am very, very, very happy and grateful! To everyone who left me a message of affection, to every hug of affection I received on the street. It has been a very difficult, suffering year, but with many victories, a wave of gigantic love and this was essential”has continued.
“I say with all my heart and with all the approval of the doctors: I have overcome bowel cancer, I have overcome this battle together with the help of God, of my orixás, of my saints, of my love for you, of my family and my irreparable medical expertise”, finished.
