Shakira displays Christmas decorations at her mansion after $7.9 million fine

Shakira is apparently ready to celebrate the holidays, her first since moving with her children Milan and Sasha to Miami to start “a new chapter.”

The 46-year-old singer is one of the celebrities who have already decorated their mansion for the imminent arrival of Christmas and as expected, she did it in style without sparing any expense.

This is how Shakira’s mansion looks decorated

On December 13, The Grosby Group released photos showing Shakira’s property decked out in countless white lights.

According to the agency, the residence’s roof, fences, poolside cabana and palm trees lining the promenade appear fully illuminated.

But that is not all. Several pots located on the large pool terrace have a “cheerful red tone” thanks to “Alexander-style flowers” decoration.

The huge house that has become home to the “Ojos Así” singer and her two little ones is located on North Bay Road in the “Sun City” and is worth $20 million.

In the construction there are six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a living-dining room and a furnished gym. In addition, it has a private dock with access to Vizcaína Bay.

The flamboyant arrangement of her home comes less than a month after Shakira struck a deal with the Spanish justice system to settle one of the cases against her for alleged tax fraud.

Not only did she plead guilty to the crime in question, but she also agreed to pay a 7.3 million euro ($7.9 million) fine in exchange for a reduced sentence that would have prevented her from going to prison.

The court sentenced her to three years in prison, but the pop superstar got away with paying 432,000 euros ($472,000) in restitution.

The singer and songwriter spoke in a statement about why she chose to plead guilty when she had been repeating her innocence for nearly five years.

“I made the decision to finally resolve this matter thinking about what was best for my children,” he said. “(They don’t want to) see their mother sacrifice her personal well-being in this fight,” he argued.

“I have to leave behind the stress and emotional exhaustion of the last few years and focus on what I love: my children and all the opportunities that will present themselves in my career,” he added.

According to the specialized site Celebrity Net Worth, the Colombian would have a fortune of around 300 million dollars.

That same Wednesday, Shakira shared a video on her Instagram account in which she clarified that she is doing Christmas activities.

In the clip she shows a gingerbread house, apparently made by herself, collapsing and said it was “the worst ever”.

A sweet child’s voice, which could be Sasha’s, asks at one point: “Can we eat this?”, to which the composer replies with a laughing “no”.
