The Anti-Kidnapping Department of the Civil Police of São Paulo continues to investigate the kidnapping of the former player Marcelinho Carioca, 51 years old. Now they are trying to recover the money transferred via PIX to the criminals.
According to the portal UOLtwo transfers were made to pay the former athlete’s ransom, one of R$30 thousand and the other of R$12 thousand.
The celebrity and his friend Taís were kidnapped last Sunday, the 17th, and held prisoner together with the criminals until the following day. To free him, the suspects asked the family for a sum of R$42,000.

Police are still looking for two other suspects who managed to escape. However, five people were arrested red-handed. “Indicted for extortion by kidnapping, money laundering, criminal association and hosting. During the investigations, two others involved were identified. Other initiatives are underway to identify the others involved and clarify the facts”clarified the Minister of Public Security.
