Cher files for conservatorship to manage her 47-year-old son’s finances

Singer Cher he appealed to the American courts to place his son Elijah Blue Allman, 47 years old, under administrative control. The information was released by the American site TMZ this Wednesday 27th.

According to documents sent to the court and published by the site, Cher, 77, claims that Elijah is addicted to drugs and incapable of managing his financial affairs. The singer also claims that her son has physical and mental health problems.

In the request, Cher argues that she, as a mother, is the best person to obtain guardianship of her son. The singer also states that, due to Elijah’s health, he has not been able to express who would be the best person to be appointed by the Court as his temporary conservator.

According to the website TMZan initial trial in the case was scheduled for March 6, 2024.

Elijah is the son of Cher and musician Gregg Allman, of the Allman Brothers, one of the most important rock groups in the world. Gregg, who died in 2017, left his son a trust fund from which he can draw income.

Cher’s plea comes three months after she was accused by Elijah’s ex-wife, Marieangela King, of kidnapping him so she could put him in a rehab facility. At the time the singer denied the accusation.
