For the first time since the celebration of the Platinum Jubilee of the reign, which died down at the beginning of the month, Her Majesty held personal meetings. Yesterday afternoon, congratulating grandson William on his 40th birthday, 96-year-old Elizabeth II met at Windsor Castle with the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. The archbishop personally congratulated Elizabeth II on her platinum jubilee and in honor of this presented her with a special award – the Canterbury Cross.
And today, the Queen received in the same place in Windsor, where she permanently resides after the death of her husband, Prince Philip, Governor of New South Wales – Margaret Beasley, who took office in May 2019. Both times, Elizabeth was in a great mood, which could not be overlooked in the official pictures from the meetings.
For both audiences, the Queen of Great Britain chose dresses with floral prints: pink flowers on a white background and brown and blue on a bright yellow. Both dresses were complemented by a pearl necklace and black shoes. Internet users also noted that Elizabeth changed her hairstyle – if she was with thick hair at the Trooping the Color parade, now her blond hair has become shorter than ever and does not fluff in different directions, but is evenly combed from the forehead back.

Recall that Elizabeth did not attend all the festive events on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the reign due to the fact that she is experiencing difficulties with movement. For example, the Queen was absent from a church service at St. Paul’s Cathedral on Friday, and also missed the Epsom Derby and the big pop concert at Buckingham Palace on Saturday, which even Kim Kardashian asked to attend. However, she managed to meet her one-year-old great-granddaughter Lilibet, the daughter of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
