In the early 2000s, Prince William was the most enviable young groom in the world – literally all the teenage girls on the planet dreamed of him and followed his life. However, the years flew by unnoticed, and the handsome young man, second in line to the British throne, became a husband, a father of many children and the hope of the crown. Today he celebrates a round date – 40 years.

The first to congratulate the Duke of Cambridge was his 73-year-old father, Prince Charles, and his wife Camilla of Cornwall, who recently gave a big candid interview with British Vogue. They published on their official royal blog a series of previously unknown photographs showing William both as a toddler and as a mature man.

Congratulations to the Duke of Cambridge on his 40th birthday! they wrote.

Following the congratulations appeared in the official account of William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. The post also contains archival photographs of the Prince and Her Majesty together.

He was born at 9:03 pm on 21 June 1982 at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London. A bulletin posted on the gates of Buckingham Palace announced that he weighed 3.4 kilograms, according to a publication posted on behalf of Elizabeth.

William’s longtime friend, football player David Beckham, also did not leave the Duke without warm words. In his account, he posted a joint picture in which he and William show off in evening tuxedos.

It is known that Prince William and Kate Middleton, who turned 40 in January, will celebrate their birthdays together in accordance with the traditions of the royal family. A joint anniversary party is planned for this summer and will be held at Windsor Castle or Sandringham.
