Today, June 26, is Armed Forces Day in the UK. On the eve of the holiday, Kate Middleton congratulated all those involved and shared a series of never-before-seen pictures taken during her visit to the Pirbright Training Academy last November. Then the wife of Prince William spent the day with the 101 operational support brigade at Abingdon airfield and personally took part in the exercises that the recruits undergo. In the published photos, the Duchess of Cambridge poses in an unusual way – instead of a dress and stilettos, Kate wears full military equipment. With a smile, she tries to understand the structure of combat vehicles.
Last year I was privileged to spend time with the British Armed Forces to see how they train service personnel and new recruits. It has been great to see for yourself the many important and varied duties that the military perform day in and day out to protect us all… Today, on Armed Forces Day, William and I would like to pay tribute to the brave men and women of the past and present who serve in all our armed forces at sea, on land and in the air, here in the UK and around the world. Thank you for everything you and your families sacrifice for our safety. And I look forward to learning more about the WWF and UK IF in the future,” Kate wrote under the photo.
