Alexandre Correa sues the Band and asks for R$41 million; understand

Ana Hickmann’s ex-husband claims he was the victim of moral damage after Cátia Fonseca’s comments. Contacted by ‘Estadão’, the broadcaster decided not to comment

Alessandro Correa sued on band and asks for R$ 41 million from the broadcaster after Cátia Fonseca, host of The best of the afternoon, they claim that the businessman embezzled R$41.8 million from his ex-wife, Ana Hickmann.

To the Estadao, Enio Martins Murad, lawyer for Ana Hickmann’s ex-husband, said that the lawsuit is brought only against the broadcaster, without including the presenter. A band was contacted, but did not comment on the case.

The speech in question aired on Thursday 28 February. In the program Cátia Fonseca tells what happened without naming the entrepreneur. She also said that three of the presenter’s former employees helped Alexandre steal money. “It’s better not to say your name so as not to reveal it,” said the presenter.

The defense claims that the broadcaster presents “no evidence to justify the charges”. In the trial, Correa demands exactly the amount he is accused of embezzling from his ex-wife.

“It is noted that no deviation or crime has been proven so far, despite the countless accusations on national television promoted by the defendant company,” says the lawyer in charge of the case. “Moral damage consists in the painful sensation of the offense, of the humiliation in front of third parties, of the pain suffered, in short of the purely psychic and sensorial damage felt by the handlers, be it caused by the memory of the embarrassment they felt and which they will suffer for their whole lives, as if they were subjected to a process of public exposure on an open television channel”, he continues.
