On the evening of March 15, the death of Humberto Espinosa Magaña, an actor recognized for his iconic role as “The Ecocoloco” in the Mexican children’s show of the 1980s, “Bubble Odyssey”. This lovable villain is remembered for his famous catchphrase: “Dirt, trash and smog.”
The news was confirmed by sources close to the family, Radio Formula reported.

The program narrated the adventures of such characters as Professor AG Memelovsky, Patas Verdes, Mimoso Ratón, Mafafa Musguito and Pistachon Zig-Zag. Together they traveled through time and space, exploring the universe and protecting it from the evil of “El Ecoloco”, whose goal was pollute the environment.
The children’s program ran for five seasons and was directed by Enrique Segoviano, with its final broadcast on October 7, 1984.
Humberto Espinosa Magaña was the first to play “El Ecoloco” in the 1980s. Although he left the production, he continued in the world of entertainment as an actor and in the field of dubbing.
In 2018, Canal Once revived the series under the name “Planeta Burbujas” and Humberto was asked to return to his iconic character. However, due to health problems afterwards two hip surgeriescould not actively participate.
