The 81-year-old journalist, known for his time at Globo, was admitted for checks to a hospital in Rio de Janeiro
The journalist Renato Machado81 years old, known for his work at Globo, the broadcaster he left in 2021, announced that he had already been discharged from the hospital in Rio de Janeiro where he had been hospitalized for about a week to undergo tests.
In a video published on Instagram on Friday 29th, he said: “Hello friends. It’s nice to see you again. I was on site for a week to repair some mechanical parts. The doctors and the good technicians decided it, the news is that everything is fine.
“Coming home is always a moment of ‘relaxation’. You’re doing something in the hospital, you’ll have an x-ray and an MRI… There’s all this movement. Then as soon as you get home, relaxing completely. Returning to the home routine is always positive,” he continued.
Then, Machado thanked all the people who sent him messages and “best wishes”. “I wanted to thank you and say that everything went well,” he clarified. Since 2009, when he underwent heart bypass surgery, the journalist has gotten into the habit of periodically undergoing cardiac tests to check his state of health.
Machado worked for Globo for 40 years. He was host and editor-in-chief of Good morning Brazil, London correspondent, columnist and special journalist. She ended her contract with the broadcaster in 2021. She premiered the documentary A week in Provenceon Canal Sabor & Arte, last Thursday, 9pm.
