On June 30, the grand opening of the contemporary art gallery SISTEMA GALLERY took place on the territory of the former Skvortsov estate. And the first exhibition presented by the creators of the new art space was the project “Reflection of the Visual”, located on three floors of the mansion. The first guests of the exposition were Tatyana Kotova, Dina Nemtsova, Irina Jovovich, Alena Chekhova, Ilana, Maria Konchalovskaya-Mikhalkova, Kristina Shapovalova, Miroslava Mikhailova and Anatoly Chernitsov, Olesya Kozhina-Boslovyak, Natalya Gantimurova and Gleb Andriyanov, Maria Messerer, Elizaveta Kostyukova, Mike Shilov, Anastasia Panibratova, Vladimir Makarov, Anton Azarov, Anna Russka and many others.
Initially, we had the idea of the concept and the name of this exhibition, and then, accordingly, we already selected the authors and works that will be presented at it. Why Reflection of the Visual? Because in our time, everything is changing very quickly, and those visual codes that were previously accessible to us, understandable and interesting, at the moment have either completely deactualized, or we have changed our attitude towards them. Therefore, we tried to focus specifically on visual magic and selected artists who work in the technique of classical painting, whose subjects, let’s say, are quite light and do not have a lot of hidden messengers under them, which would strain our consciousness, which is already overcrowded in connection with the media. information agenda, – shared the history of the creation of the exhibition gallery curator and founder Anastasia Volkova.
The project includes works by representatives of different generations of Russian artists: Dmitry Shorin, Elena Kulik and Igor Kulik, Svetlana Chimitdorzhina. All the artists selected by the project curator and General Director of SISTEMA GALLERY Anastasia Volkova work in oil painting, but their works are far from traditional figurative art. Based on the possibilities of classical technique and their own aesthetic and sensual experience, all four boldly experiment with a visual image and semantic content, rethinking the concept of an easel painting in a new way.
