Nicki Minaj became one of the most discussed topics this Saturday (25) after being arrested at an airport in the Netherlands, accused of drug possession. However, this wasn’t the first time the rap queen had gotten into trouble with the police.. In 2003 she was arrested for weapons possession.

The information was revealed by Nicki herself, in 2021, in a post on social media – deleted shortly after. Rapper claims she was arrested for “criminal possession of a weapon with intent to use”.

“I used it. It’s so inspiring now, looking back. The girl was bleeding and spent days in the hospital. The word on the street was that I was going to be deported. I was so scared (laughs). Run. I really thought I was in a movie about the ghetto. I hid the car and went to stay with my aunt in Brooklyn,” reported Nicki, who also shared her mugshot with the public.

Nicki recorded parts of the moment of the arrest on Instagram. In the register the police warn that she will be taken to the police station and the artist asks to speak to a lawyer before being taken.

Initial reports indicate that marijuana was found in the possession of the singer’s security guard. However, it would be for medicinal use and traveled with medical documents that gave the necessary authorization. The police wanted to search all of Nicki’s squad bags to see if there were any more drugs.
