The operation took place last Friday, the 17th, at the Hospital dos Olhos de Goiânia. The disease was discovered during a routine visit and the singer was soon admitted to hospital.
“Luckily he still came to us at the right time, because his central vision was not lost. So he has 100% visual acuity, good, there was some loss of visual field, but it is compatible with him being leads a normal life,” ophthalmologist Francisco Eduardo Lima told Rede Globo affiliate TV Anhanguera.
According to ophthalmologist José Beniz Neto, glaucoma causes the patient to lose peripheral vision, i.e. lateral vision. “Not that central vision, where you see the letters on television, or what Detran asks you to read during the exam. Peripheral vision, which is progressively lost, usually over the years, and in a subtle and asymptomatic way, the person does not feel anything, ”he underlines.
Neto also states that this is the most dangerous glaucoma, as it steals sight, without the patient realizing it, over the years.
According to the doctor responsible for the operation, he will be able to continue working without problems until the disease progresses. Marrone is already at home, but will be absent for the next 15 days, when a new evaluation will be carried out. However, Bruno will respect the duo’s schedule so that no show is cancelled. The compatriot will continue to monitor his glaucoma.
