In the official statement released this morning by the press office, the team maintained further details, but specified that Chrystian was recently diagnosed with a medical condition that required immediate rest and specialist care.
“His unmistakable voice and passion for music have brought joy and enthusiasm to fans across Brazil […] In this moment of profound pain we find comfort in the memories of the happy moments and in the songs he left us”, wrote the family in a death note published this evening on social media.
In February this year, Chrystian had already been admitted for a kidney transplant at Hospital do Rim. The organ was donated by his wife, Key Vieira, but the surgery was postponed until the end of the year due to the need for catheterization during preoperative examinations.
The singer was dedicating himself to a solo career. Chrystian’s duo with his brother Ralf released more than 20 albums and had success in the 80s and 90s, with songs like My Mona Lisa (track of a soap opera The king of cattle), Shampoo smell AND New York.
