TV presenter Victoria Vera was murdered by her husband, businessman David Thomas Blyth, who then committed suicide.
According to the Daily Mail, the oil tycoon shot the singer after allegedly arguing over some of her text messages on Tuesday, June 11.
The couple were at their home in Ankara, the capital of Turkey, when the alleged fight took place. His three children were also there.
After attacking the 40-year-old driver, the man, 53, killed himself, with no one else injured, according to reports.
Victoria’s sister Vera breaks the silence
In light of the death of Victoria Vera, host of the Europe 2 ‘Morning Show’ program, her sister Alexandra has issued a message, reports The Sun.
“It is with deep sadness and pain that I must announce that my beloved and beautiful sister, the sunshine of our lives who brought us so much joy, with her laughter, positive spirit, drive and energy, has left us forever,” he wrote on Instagram.
“My family is going through a very difficult time because they have lost both their parents. We recently buried our father and now our sister and brother-in-law,” he said.
“We need time to recover, but above all we must be here for the children. We really appreciate your beautiful messages, but in these difficult times we need time to breathe,” he concluded.
The media explains that after what happened, the children of the driver and David Thomas, who are 4, 10 and 14 years old, have been placed in the care of their maternal relatives, who traveled to Ankara.
Victoria Vera reportedly wanted to leave her husband
Regarding this situation, a friend of Victoria Vera revealed that she told her about the problems she was going through in her marriage.
“Everyone followed her on Instagram, but a few months ago her profile suddenly disappeared. So I contacted ‘Viky’ to find out what’s going on,” he said in an interview with Czech newspaper Blesk.
“He told me that the husband did not want the wife of an influential businessman to present herself like that. “So she agreed and created a new profile, which was already blocked from the public, and stopped sharing her sexy photos,” he added.
The relative reported that, after some time, the communicator shared with her “that she was dealing with her husband’s constant infidelities. “She said she was jealous.”
This person claimed that Victoria had threatened to leave David Thomas if he didn’t stop womanizing.
According to this acquaintance, the TV celebrity had planned to go to the Czech Republic in the summer to reunite with his loved ones.
“He wrote to me that later he would not return to Ankara and that he would stay here. That she left her husband and her children, that she wanted a life without infidelities or anxiety about the children… Who would have imagined that this decision would cost her her life and leave three young orphans” she concluded.
The Daily Mail reports that the businessman apparently saw the text messages in which Victoria Vera was talking to her Czech friends about her plans, before their alleged row.
