Her character in the soap opera is also transsexual, and goes through very complicated moments in the plot: “This type of violence is more than real. It is latent. It is no coincidence that our country is the one that kills the most transgender people. Furthermore, the life expectancy of a trans person is 35 years. The actress said she often sees herself in Buba: “It’s not making fun of anyone. No trans person has to tell everyone they’re trans all the time. Cis people don’t go around saying, ‘Hey, it’s okay, I’m a cisgender, heteronormative person…’ So why do they constantly force it on us? I’m not making fun of anyone!
