“A great actor, a brilliant director and my dearest friend”

    Former colleagues and great Hollywood personalities have shared his regards, his condolences and his tributes to James Cannthe actor who died on Wednesday night at the age of 82.

    Recognized for his legendary role as Sonny Corleone in the first two ‘The Godfather’ moviesCaan will also be remembered for other memorable characters in the films ‘Misery’, ‘El Dorado’, ‘Rollerball’, ‘A Bridge Too Far’, ‘Eraser’, ‘Mickey Blue Eyes’, ‘Elf’ and ‘Dogville’, as well from the series ‘Vegas’.

    The actor’s family published confirmed his death with a tweet that said the following: “It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Jimmy on the night of July 6.. The family appreciates the outpouring of love and deepest condolences and asks that you continue to respect her privacy during this difficult time.”

He will always be my old friend from Sunnyside, my collaborator and one of the funniest people I have ever met.”.
