The December 1987 issue, celebrates Luma de Oliveira’s victory at Miss Playboy Internationala contest organized by the magazine and held once in Hong Kong. The format is similar to Miss Universe The intention was to choose the most beautiful bunny in the world, several nations competed, but the Brazilian won the title and the right to appear on the cover of the special edition of the magazine.
“Luma represented Brazil and there was no other way, in the late 80s, Luma was the body, the woman, she was absolutely everything. She had already done some covers, so she was really the best indication to represent the country… and she went and won”, joked Lucas Hit, administrator of the Clube da Vip profile, in a post on Instagram.
The copy of the Playboy Chinese with Oliveira’s Lamp It was released in January 1988, when the model was just 25 years old. Considered a relic among collectors, the magazine was saved by a fan.

“[Ć considerado raro porque] This essay has never been published anywhere. [fora da China]nor inside Playboy Brazilian. It’s enough to give a collector a heart attack,” Lucas Hit added. “It’s very beautiful, it’s a jewel and I’ll show you some photos.”

“This edition is beautiful and the photographer Kevin Orpin has made a spectacular essay in 16 pages. Beautiful edition. And to think that SĆ“nia Lima gave up being the official representative and Luma went and won the title and only contest, since there were no more editions,” commented a fan identified as CĆ©sar. “I don’t think Luma itself has this edition,” another fan identified as Tadeu. “This magazine is the Holy Grail for collectors,” said a third person identified as Jorge.
Advertised in a virtual second-hand bookstore, the magazine didn’t take long to sell out. According to Lucas Hit, it took only 20 minutes for someone interested in the copy to appear, who paid R$3,000 for it.
