The husband of Ivete Sangalo, Daniele Cadycaused a stir when it revealed that it had suspended its regulation for the Regional Council of Nutritionists (CRN). Daniel, who has been retired from his nutrition practice since 2020, shared the decision after being embroiled in a controversy with the surgeon general Gabriel Almeida.
During the program “Whatever happens“, from Metropole radio, Cady criticized the use of Ozempica diabetes medicine which has recently gained fame as a slimming product. He stated that there is an indiscriminate use of such drugs for other diseases, which, according to him, is not healthy. For the nutritionist, losing weight naturally should be a priority.

Cady’s statement about Ozempic did not go unnoticed. In response, Surgeon General Gabriel Almeida considered the comments inappropriate and suggested that Daniel study the drug further. The doctor emphasized that semaglutide is approved for obesity and overweight, advocating its use when indicated by specialists.
In response to criticism following his participation in the program, Daniel Cady chose to suspend his regulation by the CRN, after no longer working in the field since 2020. He explained that his focus had changed and, therefore, he felt it was best to officially stop working as a nutritionist. The decision took many by surprise and sparked debate on social media and in the medical community.
