I told myself that I am not a very competitive person, but when we enter the challenge, we dedicate ourselves until the end to be able to emerge as champion,” he said. “This is my last year at Rede Globo, after 15 years in the house, but calm down, it is never a goodbye, it is always a see you later.”

The actor did not explain what the next steps of his career will be. However, he thanked Globo for what he called a “wonderful space” to realize his acting dream and bring to TV “the art of black residents of the favelas.”

In one of the most significant moments of his statement, Marcello Mello Jr. took off his shoes to thank the founder of ‘nós no Morro’, founder of the homonymous theater group that has been operating for 38 years.

“I only went barefoot because Gud taught me a word in practice, which is called ‘humility.’ It’s not something you buy or receive from someone, humility is something that comes from within you. And always keep your feet on the ground,” he declared.
