Rapper Eminem, known for his provocative lyrics and fierce rivalry with superstar Mariah Careyhe didn’t save Sean “Diddy” Combs on his latest album.
Released in July this year, “The Death of Slim Shady” makes indirect references to the scandals involving P. Diddy, who was arrested in September on charges of sex trafficking and assault.
Eminem’s provocations in ‘Fuel’
In the song “Fuel”, Eminem alludes to the serious accusations against the rapper:
“I’m like a STUNNER / I got so much SA / Wait, he didn’t just write the word Rapper and leave out a P, did he? (Yeah) / RIP, rest in peace, Biggie / And Pac, you both should live.”
Loosely translated: “I’m like a rapist / Got a lot of BO / Wait, did he really write rapper but no P? (Ahem) / Rest in peace, Biggie / And Pac, you two should be alive.”
The expression “P, right?” sounds like “P. Diddy”, linking the lyrics to the rapper’s nickname.
The Antichrist and the Cassie reference
On another track on the album, “Antichrist”, Eminem makes another mention of Diddy:
“Horrible and treacherous like me, or just as mean a spitter? / The next idiot who asks me will get beat up worse than Diddy.”
