“My father died without knowing me, his best friend,” says Cid Moreira’s son

Rodrigo Radenzev Simões Moreira spoke about the emotional distance between him and his father

The journalist’s son Cid Moreira, Rodrigo Radenzev Simões Moreira54 years old, he said it was a lot sad about his father’s death and, in a video sent to Mônica Bergamo’s column, by Folha de S.Paulo, vented about the emotional distance between the two.

“My father died and stopped knowing his best friend, who was me. He didn’t want to get close to me, he didn’t want to talk to me. Fátima [Sampaio, mulher de Moreira] He also commanded and dismantled everything he did,” he said.

Rodrigo also reflected on the impact of the loss. “Unfortunately it’s over now, it’s come to an end. We can’t meet anymore and it’s a hole that will stay inside me forever. It’s a very bad feeling,” he added.

The video was sent by lawyer Ângelo Carbone, who represents Rodrigo and Roger Felipe Naumtchyk, 47, also Cid Moreira’s son. The two brothers did not attend their father’s wake and burial to avoid conflicts with his widow Fátima, with whom they have a history of legal proceedings. According to Carbone, “they will ask to celebrate the seventh day mass in the Sé cathedral next week.”

Shortly after Cid’s death, on Thursday the 3rd, Rodrigo and Roger asked the court to open the presenter’s inventory. They filed a lawsuit in the 1st Family Court of Petrópolis, the city where the journalist lived, demanding that the trial be free because they were “poor in expressing words.”

The lawyer estimates in the article that Cid Moreira’s assets amount to approximately R$40 million in real estate and R$20 million in copyright contracts with Globo. There is still no confirmation about the existence of a will.

Rodrigo and Roger claim that Cid caused psychological damage after marrying Fátima, which left his children in a “very vulnerable situation”. Fátima, for her part, considers the accusations slanderous and did not want to comment on the trial Sheet.

This isn’t the first time Cid’s sons have argued with their father. In 2021, Rodrigo and Roger requested the judicial interdiction of the presenter, accusing the parents’ negligence and abuse of assets by the widow. They accused Fátima of selling 11 of the journalist’s 18 properties and transferring R$40 million abroad. Cid Moreira has always denied the accusations and, in 2022, declared that his children’s actions were motivated by “financial interests”, demonstrating his mental health in court.

Rodrigo is the son of Olga Verônica Radenzev Simões, Cid’s ex-wife between 1970 and 1972, while Roger was adopted by the journalist during a previous relationship. Over the years, both sons have filed lawsuits against Cid, alleging emotional abandonment and, in Roger’s case, serious allegations of abuse, which have always been denied by Cid Moreira.
