Spanish prosecutors have demanded two years in prison and a €10 million fine for Paris Saint-Germain striker Neymar in a 2013 transfer case from Santos to Barcelona, Reuters reported.

Also in this case, the prosecutor’s office demanded five years in prison for the former president of Barcelona, Sandro Rosell, accused of corruption and fraud. The club faces a fine of 8.4 million euros.

Brazilian investment group DIS, which owned part of the rights to transfer Neymar when he moved to Barcelona, claims that he received less money than was supposed to be under the deal. A court document released on Friday alleges that Barcelona initiated negotiations with the player in 2011, paying him €40m to move after his Santos contract expired in 2014, preventing other clubs from signing him.

The trial is due to begin on October 17 in Barcelona.

Note that today the same Spanish prosecutor’s office approved the indictment against Shakira. The agency claims that the singer evaded taxes totaling 14.5 million euros. In addition to the prison sentence, the prosecutor demanded a fine of 23.7 million euros. In the coming weeks, a court in Barcelona will rule on the start of the trial.
