Sun Odilo Pedro Scherer
At 75, he was the 19th bishop of San Paolo, fifth cardinal and seventh archbishop of the state capital. He is still a great chancellor of the Pontifical Catholic University of San Paolo (PUC-SP). It is the best known Brazilian name in the Conclave.

Dom Paul Cezar Costa
The youngest of the Brazilians, he is 57 years old and is Archbishop of Brasilia, headquarters of the Catholic Church in Brazil. He is also a member of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America.
Dom Orani João Tempesta
18th Bishop of Rio de Janeiro, he is 74 years old and is the sixth cardinal of the city. It was the ninth archbishop of Belém do Pará and the third bishop of San José do Rio Preto.
Dom João Braz de Aviz
The mayor emeritus of Dicker for the institutes of consecrated life, is 77 years old and is known to be a defender of the theology of liberation. It is also the emeritus archbishop of Brasilia.
