The singer Junior Lima and his wife, Monica Benini, reported Tuesday (22 July) that the youngest daughter, Lara, just 3 years old, was diagnosed with a nephrotic syndrome. The condition, which affects the kidneys, requires rigorous and continuous treatment with immunosuppressive drugs, which significantly compromises the child’s immunity.
According to the report made on social networks, the couple noticed the first signs of the disease after noticing swelling in the girl’s eyes, initially associated with a possible allergy. From the more detailed medical assessments, the diagnosis has been confirmed. According to Junior, the daughter is positively reacting to the first phase of the treatment, but the family will have to keep extreme care throughout the process.
Faced with the low immunity of his daughter, Junior announced that he will use the mask in places with crowds, even during the solo tour shows. “Therefore, you are not strange because you will probably see us around the in place that has many people, because we cannot bring home virus because it can disturb the entire treatment, to make it go back to the zero pole,” explained the singer.
His wife, Monica Benini, has strengthened the appeal, highlighting the risks that simple infections can involve at this stage of the treatment. In his speech, he stressed that the drug used causes strong immunosuction, which requires an even more controlled environment for the child.
The repercussion of the news generated a series of support demonstrations. Several artists sympathized the family in the comments of the publication. The actress Fernanda Paes Leme wrote: “What an important warning. Thanks for the division and the good that Lara is better every day. Forces … kisses in your heart! And a lot of health for her!”.
During the video, Junior also warned other parents on the importance of early diagnosis in case of rare diseases. “We came here to talk to you about a very important topic. Our daughter, Lara, has recently been diagnosed with a nephrotic syndrome, a rare condition that affects the kidneys and is still little known. This news has caught us by surprise, but we are facing a lot of love and strength,” he said.
Nefrostic syndrome, experts, can manifest itself at any age, but is more frequent between 18 months and 4 years. The most common symptoms include swelling around the eyes, spinning urine, fatigue, loss of appetite and an increased risk of infections. Although there are cases without care, many patients enter into remission with adequate treatment.
Despite the delicate moment, the couple assured that they will continue with professional commitments, respecting all the medical guidelines. In fact, they strengthened the desire to live every phase with caution, protection and love, noting that the support of fans and friends was fundamental in this process.
