Craque Neto used the edition of this Wednesday (23) of the “OS Owls of Bola” program of the band, to highlight the legacy of the goalkeeper Barbosa and, above all, to Valoro Vasco da Gama. The presenter wore a shirt in honor of the former goalkeeper Cruzmaltino and, in the middle of the reverence, said with Veemenza that the San Januário club is superior to Flamengo in various historical and symbolic aspects.
The speech of the former player Corinzio emerged at the time when he commented on the injustice suffered by Barbosa after the 1950 World Cup. According to him, the former Brazilian T -shirt 1 was cruelly treated by the club, including veto with the players of the national team, such as Talalar, in the following decades.
Remembering this episode, Neto said: “This country ended here with Barbosa’s life. Parreira said that she didn’t want Barbosa to talk to Talalar because she was unfortunate. But the weather changed, perhaps she thinks differently today.”
The presenter also expanded the theme by comparing the two largest clubs in Rio de Janeiro. In his evaluation, Vasco represents more than Flamengo in tradition and representativeness: “I am here to represent Barbosa, which represents Vasco who is much bigger than Flamengo for me. I have no doubts. History, strength, cheerleading”.
However, criticisms of the current moment of Cruzmaltino were not spared. Neto failed the performance of the scoreboard and the cast after the elimination in the South American cup, against the Independiente del Valle. The 1-1 draw in San Januário, Tuesday (22 July), culminated in the club’s departure from the international competition.
The commentator directed part of the responsibility for President Pedrinho and the coach Fernando Diniz. “Fernando Diniz’s Vasco died, right? The same conversations as usual. Pedrinho, you when you were a commentator had all the paths, but then you did since you became president,” said Neto.
In addition, he directly criticized the way the club conducted his purchases and the management of the cast, nominally citing Philippe Coutinho. “Renew the Philippe Coutinho contract that has done absolutely nothing. Take players because Philippe Coutinho asked. Vasco is from Barbosa,” he added.
Currently, Vasco is in a delicate situation in the Brazilian championship. With 14 points in 16 rounds, it occupies sixteenth place and is at risk of entering the relegation area. The team returns to the field on Sunday (27 July), at 18:30 (Brasilia Time), against Internacional, in Beira-Rio.
Despite the criticisms, Neto reiterated his respect for the history of the tank, strengthening the importance of forgotten idols and the recognition of the origins of the club. The episode marked another moment when the presenter is positioned in no uncertain terms in relation to the structures and characters of Brazilian football.
