Actor Gary Busey (“Predators 2”) was indicted on Saturday (29/8) by the police in Cherry Hill, New Jersey (USA) with three reports of sexual crimes.
Busey, who is 78 and lives in Malibu, California, was accused of groping at least two women at a Monster-Mania convention in Cherry Hill last week. The biannual event celebrates horror movies and allows fans to meet the artists.
During the convention, local police responded to a sexual crime report at the Doubletree Hotel. After an investigation, investigators accused Busey of two criminal sexual contacts and one attempted criminal sexual contact. He was also charged with harassment.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, police have received “more complaints” about Busey’s conduct, but the Cherry Hill Police Department declined to provide further details on the incidents at this time.
The heyday of Busey’s career was between the 70s and 90s. He was even nominated for an Oscar for his starring role in the rock biopic “The Buddy Holly Story” (1978) and has distinguished himself in such blockbuster films as “Lethal Weapon” (1987), starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover, “Predator 2” (1990), again with Danny Glover, “Huntlers” (1991), with Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, “The Force Standing” (1992), with Steven Seagal, and “The Company” (1993), with Tom Cruise.
Due to his eccentric personality, the actor has also participated in many productions playing himself, from the classic “The Player” (1992), by Robert Altman, to the trashy “The Last Sharknado: It’s Already Time” (2018), passing through the series – and the film of the series – “Entourage”.
It is still in business, but 90% of its work this century is low-budget productions for the home video and internet rental market. The highlight of this list is “Piranha 2” (2012), released directly on VOD (video on demand) in the United States. He played a peasant who dies devoured by piranhas at the beginning of the film.
