Diners can eat spooky-looking dishes to the tune of 80s classics that encapsulate the series’ soundtrack. The restaurant is a partnership with the Japanese chain Ready Corp and there has been a great demand from fans of the series who want to taste the themed treats.
The décor of the restaurant reproduces the scenario of the series, set in the fictional city of HawkinsIndiana, together with the tone and objects that make the visitor feel inside the Sottosopra.
Customers can enjoy treats inspired by the series, such as squid ink pasta, food reproductions of monster heads or favorite waffles from Eleven. All of this can be enjoyed while the photos are taken together with the Demogorgon, full of hits like Run up that hillby Kate Bush.
“Every day at midnight I try to book a table,” said Kimiko Nakae, 29. “There’s finally an opening today because someone canceled the reservation,” the woman told CNN.
Stranger things is one of the top ten most viewed series on Netflix in Japan and has been among the most loved since its fourth season which began in May in the Land of the Rising Sun.
Due to the increase in Covid-19 cases in Japan, the bar has limited reservations and has established the capacity for twenty people per hour to enter the venue.
