Yesterday, the entire Catholic world celebrated the bright holiday of Easter. Festive services were held in many cities, for example, in Windsor, where Kate Middleton, Prince William and other members of the royal family appeared. The monarchs of Monaco did not stand aside, however, the princely family limited themselves to a special publication on the network. In a photo posted to Charlene’s social media on Sunday evening, family members are shown in bright holiday costumes with an Easter bunny and a basket of treats. The princess added a short caption to the post:
Happy easter.
The royal family also celebrated last year’s Easter in full force – Charlene then published photos on the network. Incidentally, this year’s Sunday snapshot was released just hours after Prince Albert II came out of self-isolation after testing positive for COVID-19. This is the second time for His Lordship that he has been ill with the coronavirus, fortunately both are mild.

The photo session took place on the territory of the palace next to a small family pond built by Prince Rainer III. This is the first family portrait since August and the first photo released since informal snapshots surfaced in November to celebrate the return of the princess from South Africa. A few days after the publication of those images, 64-year-old Prince Albert reported that his wife was feeling unwell and was going to a Swiss clinic for medical help.
Charlene returned to Monaco in early March and continued her treatment in the principality, but did not appear in public and suspended her official duties.
Recall that the princess left the country at the beginning of 2021. When her diplomatic mission in South Africa ended, she was never able to fully return home. As Charlene later said, the problems began due to the consequences of an ear infection. Doctors for a long time forbade her long flights because of the risk of rising intracranial pressure. During her illness, Charlene missed several important events, including the 10th wedding anniversary of her own, as well as the opening of the Olympics in Japan. However, her husband and children visited the princess twice in South Africa.
