Marcio Rolim refutes the comedian’s thesis that the LGBTQIAP + community does not suffer persecution during the current Presidency
Demonized by LGBT +, Jair Bolsonaro has the support of some popular gays. Among them, the presenter Amin Khader and the makeup artist Agustin Fernandez. The list now includes Evandro Santo.
The comedian who played Christian Pior in “Panic” and was in “A Fazenda 10” surprised his colleagues and TV fans by posting a video on Instagram. He appears smiling, hugging the president who is attempting re-election and declares his vote for him.
It has received countless criticisms. “It’s sad that you don’t learn. Life has shown you so much. I’m sorry for you,” commented Fernando Oliveira, aka Fefito, presenter of ‘TV Fama’.
But it also got expressions of solidarity from other celebrities who vote for Bolsonaro, such as Carioca, Henri Castelli, Andressa Urach and Andrea Sorvetão.
Gay youtuber Marcio Rolim, of the Bee40tona channel, disputed a recording in which Evandro claims that LGBTQIAP + lives normally without any persecution by Bolsonaro and his allies.
“The gays are still in Frei Caneca, as they always have to be, holding hands, kissing each other,” says the comedian, referring to the most frequented street by the rainbow community of São Paulo.
“Evandro, gays continue to be beaten, yes. Trans people continue to die more and more. You can see the numbers,” Rolim replied.
“Is gay freedom over? Gays have stopped working, flirting, gays have stopped going to Grindr? What have gays lost?”, Insisted the comedian. Grindr is a dating app.
“You speak as if Bolsonaro gave this freedom. The little freedom we have, compared to non-LGBT people, is a milestone of the last 100 years”, argued the influencer.
In the same video, Evandro recalled being the victim of physical assault for being homosexual.
“If you say you were beaten for being gay and you support a president who promotes the beating of gays, then you have a problem that goes far beyond ignorance. It requires bad karatism,” said Marcio Rolim.
After the tsunami of criticism, the former ‘Panic’ released a rant.
“I’ve never been on anyone’s Instagram to say ‘vote 22’ … People are free to express themselves … If anyone can call another ‘thief’, ‘Bozo’, it’s because he has expression,” said Evandro. .
“When I thought I was going to vote for Bolsonaro, I was counting on people not following me … It’s also cool, it creates another audience that really likes me, regardless of political choices … It’s a horrible dictatorship, folks.”
