Actor Johnny Depp (“Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets”) was one of the most searched names on Google in 2022. The information was disseminated by the internet search service itself, which made its list available with the most searched content of the year.
Depp spearheaded the search for all the actors thanks to the infamous lawsuit he took against his ex-wife, also an actress Amber Heart (“Aquaman”), who, not surprisingly, also appeared on the list, at 3rd place. That is, the public was actively seeking more information about the controversies involving the couple.
The controversy also affected the rest of the Top 5, which saw Will Smith in 2nd place after slapping 4th place Chris Rock at the Oscars ceremony. At the time, Rock pranked Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith (#5), which the actor didn’t like.
In addition to leading the ranking of most searched actors, Depp, Smith, Rock and Heart also appeared in the Top 5 of the overall ranking of the most searched “people” on Google, a category in which they share the Top 5 with the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin (4th place).
In the Movie category, the highlights were ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, ‘Black Adam’ and ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, and the most searched series were ‘Euphoria’, ‘House of the Dragon’ and ‘Moon Knight “. To make up for HBO Max’s two at the top, Netflix landed six titles in the Top 10, which you can see below.
In the list of most searched names in Brazil, President-elect Lula was in 1st place, followed by actress Klara Castanho (“Good morning, Veronica”) and former BBB Rodrigo Mussi. The defeated candidate Jair Bolsonaro finished 5th, behind another politician, the extremist Roberto Jefferson, who was arrested after throwing bombs at federal police officers.
