Tour of the hotel room Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stayed in during their trip to the Netherlands

__________________________________

All last week, the media only talked about the first European “tour” of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry after the resignation of royal powers (recall, On January 8, 2020, the couple published statement about his desire to start an independent life, and in Marchthey officially resigned). The reason for the trip to the Netherlands was the next “Games of the Invincible” (Invictus Games) – international multidisciplinary competitions for former and active military personnel who were wounded or disabled in the service. Similar to the Paralympic Games, these competitions have been held in different countries since 2014 at the initiative of Harry.

The games were held from April 16 to 22, but Megan spent only a couple of days in The Hague and soon returned to Los Angeles with the children. And Harry stayed there until Friday and even managed to give a long interview, in which he talked about meeting with Queen Elizabeth II on the way to the Games, about his mother Princess Diana and life in the USA, and also named the reason for moving to the States.

In addition to the fact that the couple constantly violated the rules of royal protocol (although now they do not have to follow it), journalists also discussed where they lived. The fact is that on the eve of their arrival in the Netherlands, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima refused to provide them with one of the rooms of their palace and arrange a reception. All because it was not an official visit of the royals.

So Megan and Harry stayed at the Hilton Hotel in the heart of The Hague. They opted for the Royal Suite, which costs £2,000 per night. It has a bedroom with a king-size double bed, a large bathroom, a sitting area with a TV, a common area with tables, chairs, a long terrace overlooking the city, an office. An interesting fact is that none of the hotel guests knew who their neighbors were, because the room is connected to the underground parking by a private elevator. In this way, the duke and duchess were able to leave the hotel and return to it unnoticed.

The couple also paid for another more modest room for their head of security, Christopher Sanchez, who used to be the bodyguard of the President of the United States, and one more for employees of their company Archewell. Each of them cost about 400 pounds per night.
