On February 3, Pablo Lyle was sentenced to 5 years in prison and 8 years of probation after being found guilty of the involuntary manslaughter of Juan Ricardo Hernández.
Previously, the actor’s lawyers submitted letters written by his relatives to the court as part of a strategy to persuade Judge Marisa Tinkler to impose a reduced sentence.
This week, the program Despierta América revealed what Mauro and Arantza wrote in their own handwriting, the result of Lyle’s relationship with Ana Araujo.
Pablo Lyle’s kids call him ‘brave’
In addition to expressing the love he feels for his father, the little one described some of the qualities he sees in him.
“My name is Mauro, I am 8 years old and I am the son of Pablo Lyle. I was there on the most important day of my life, the day Dad didn’t come back to Mazatlan,” she wrote.
He continued: “I miss him so much. I know my dad wouldn’t dare hurt someone. i was little My dad is very funny and loving, he is very cool. I love him very much. My dad was very brave.”
For her part, Araújo’s eldest daughter made it clear that she doesn’t think the soap opera actor should be in prison instead of by her side.
“Hello, I’m Arantza, Pablo Lyle’s daughter, I’m in the sixth grade and I’m 12 years old,” she said.
“My dad is a good person, I love him a lot and he is also kind. To me he doesn’t deserve to be there, I’d like him to be with me, but that doesn’t matter,” she said.
“I’ve known him since he was 4 years old and I’m not lying when I say he’s a kind, loving, grateful, brave man. I wish I could be as brave as him. So, bye,” he concluded.
According to Caras, Arantza is not Pablo’s biological daughter. However, he has been her father figure ever since he became Ana’s partner.
Pablo Lyle’s wife mentioned their children in her letter
In her own writing, Lyle’s wife, among others, talked about how what happened was affecting their children’s lives.
“The children are the key point in this whole story, I think they are the backbone and the strongest pillar that has been overlooked all this time in Pablo’s case,” he said.
“Pablo and I really admire them and we’ve learned a big part of who we are now as parents from them,” Ana commented before revealing that Mauro and Aranza experienced fear and sleeplessness “for months.”
Before Judge Tinkler announced her decision, Araujo gave her testimony about what happened on March 31, 2019 between her husband and Hernández, but she also had a few words for Lyle.
“I have seen your pain, your repentance and the great kindness that is your spirit. I always told you, you’re a heart with legs, that’s who you are, that’s Pablo,” he said.
