This year’s iconic Met Gala will be dedicated to the late designer Karl Lagerfeld. The other day it became known that the favorite cat of fashion designer Choupette will take part in the event. During Lagerfeld’s lifetime, she became one of the most famous animals in the world. According to The New York Post, the cat has already received an official invitation to the ball.

This event is in honor of Carl’s legacy, and Choupette is clearly a central part of that legacy,” said Lucas Beroullier, Choupette’s agent and owner of My Pet agency, which specializes in powerful pets.

Choupette is expected to be the star of the red carpet. The event will take place on May 1 under the leadership of Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour.

I imagine her walking in with a large retinue, perhaps Anna or Grace Coddington. I think the best way to get attention would be for her to appear solo or with a big celebrity – like Beyoncé. Or maybe she will be accompanied by Karl’s old bodyguard, Sebastien Jondeau, commented Michelle Baron, an illustrator who worked on the book Where’s Karl?: A Fashion-Forward Parody.

Birman Choupette was born on August 15, 2011 and was originally owned by French fashion model Baptiste Giabiconi. He called the pet “a common French nickname for cute girls.” One day Giabiconi asked Lagerfeld to babysit Choupette during his vacation. The designer was initially reluctant, but soon became enamored with the animal. Therefore, the former owner decided to let Lagerfeld keep the kitten.

I realized that Choupette brought great joy to Carl,” Giabiconi said in an interview with The Times.

Earlier it became known that 50-year-old actor Jared Leto started filming a biopic about the life and work of Karl Lagerfeld. Not only will he play the lead role, but he will also serve as an executive producer. There is practically no external resemblance between Leto and Lagerfeld, but the creators will surely compensate for this shortcoming with makeup, as was the case in the film “The House of Gucci”. There Jared tried on the image of Paolo Gucci.
