Bassist Canisso’s children greet their father: “I will take his teachings”


Bassist Canisso, from the band Raimundos, died on Monday 13 March. His children, Nina and Pedro, paid beautiful tributes to their father

José Henrique Campos Pereira, better known by his stage name Canisso, bassist of one of the biggest rock and roll bands in Brazil, the Raimundos, died on the morning of Monday 13 March. The musician died in the city of Santana de Parnaíba, in the hinterland of São Paulo.




Denis Porto, the band’s manager, was responsible for confirming the death. According to the information shared on Canisso’s profile on social networks, the bassist would have fallen due to a faint. Rushed to the hospital, he couldn’t resist and died.

Canisso’s children pay homage to their father

Nina Toscano, daughter of the musician Canisso, shared some nostalgic photos with her father on her Instagram profile when she was still a child. In the caption, the young woman said: “I will always love you dad. Go with God. Fly high.”

Then Nina continued: “Thank you for guiding me through this life, I will carry your teachings with me for the rest of my life. I am who I am because of you, I couldn’t ask for a better father. I love you more than life. Rest in power.”

Peter Tuscan, the artist’s son, shared some more recent images with his father, probably taken during the World Cup. In the caption he said: “Dad, I still can’t believe it, it was a big scare to lose you so quickly, but I will always be proud to have had a hero for a father, now it’s my turn to follow in his legacy.”

Singer Dinho Ouro Pretowho also started his musical career in Brasilia, like Canisso, left his comment on Pedro’s post. “Your father was the oldest. A giant. Generous, thoughtful, kind, funny and intelligent. I believe he and his music will always be with us. My condolences”he said.
