The perfumer gives valuable advice for choosing the ideal fragrance
Each season of the year calls for a different kind of fragrance. For example, during spring and summer, it is best to opt for light and fresh fragrances with citrus or floral notes. This is because heat tends to make them stronger, which can cause headaches or discomfort in more sensitive people. In autumn and winter the fragrances can be warmer and more intense, with woody and spicy notes.
French perfumery is successful all over the world and has been conquering Brazilians for years. Therefore, perfumer Poliana Palhano, who works at Fragrance de L’opĂ©ra in Paris, France, shared valuable advice on how to use perfume in the most appropriate way.
Never rub the essence
“During the day, using a cologne or eau de toilette is a good choice, as they are lighter options. For nighttime, opt for a perfume or Eau de Parfum, as they are stronger and appropriate for the time of day. Spray the perfume on warm parts of the body and never rub it on bodybecause this can modify its molecules and consequently its smell”, advises Poliana.

Difference between Eau de Parfum and Eau de Toilette
The perfumer explains that many people they buy perfumes, but they don’t know the difference between an eau de parfum and an eau de toilette. The difference between perfumes is basically the amount of essence; the lighter ones, such as colognes or Eau de Toilettes, have more alcohol and little essence, i.e. they are more diluted, consequently the fixation is much lower.
Parfum, Eau de Parfum and Elixir have higher amounts of essence, last better, but are much more expensive, as they are less diluted. These differences affect not only the intensity of the perfume, but also its duration and hold on the skin.
Choosing the right fragrance for every season of the year and occasion can make the difference in arriving elegantly at an event, at work or even at home. simple public spaces.
