Despite this, we know that in recent years the numbers have been continuously declining, which represents an immense danger that very serious viruses, such as polio, will be circulating again.




To help organize the family, we list here the essential vaccines for infants and children according to the SUS calendar. It is worth remembering that it is essential to follow the vaccination schedule correctly, with all doses and boosters. Check below:

BCG

Vaccination schedule: single dose

Age: at birth

Hepatitis B

Vaccination schedule: 3 doses

Age: the 1st at birth (in the first 12 hours of life). The interval between the 1st and 2nd dose is 30 days and, between the 2nd and 3rd, 180 days

Poliomyelitis (VIP 1, 2 and 3) inactivated

Vaccination scheme: 3 doses (+ 2 boosters with OPV)

Age: 1st dose at 2 months, 2nd dose at 4 months and 3rd dose at 6 months

Poliomyelitis (VOP 1 and 3) attenuated

Vaccination schedule: 2 VIP boosters

Age: 1st dose at 15 months and 2nd at 4 years

pentavalent

DTP + Hib + HB – against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B and against bacteria influenza haemophilus type b, responsible for infections of the nose, meninges and throat

Vaccination schedule: 3 doses (+ 2 boosters with DTP vaccine)

Age: 1st dose at 2 months, 2nd dose at 4 months and 3rd dose at 6 months

Rotaviruses

Vaccination schedule: 2 doses

Age: 1st dose at 2 months and 2nd dose at 4 months

Pneumococcus 10-valent (PCV 10)

Vaccination schedule: 2 doses and 1 booster

Age: 1st dose at 2 months, 2nd dose at 4 months and booster at 12 months

meningococcus C

Vaccination scheme: 2 doses and 1 booster

Age: 1st dose at 3 months, 2nd dose at 5 months and booster at 12 months

Yellow fever (mitigated)

Vaccination scheme: 1 dose and 1 booster

Age: dose at 9 months and booster at 4 years

Yellow fever vaccine cannot be given at the same time as triple viral or tetraviral vaccine in children younger than 2 years; the interval between them must be 30 days

Triple virality (RCS – measles, mumps and rubella)

Vaccination schedule: 2 doses – 1st dose SCR (measles, mumps and rubella) and 2nd dose SCRV (+ varicella)

Age: 12 months

Tetraviral (SCRV – measles, mumps, rubella and chicken pox)

Vaccination scheme: 2 doses (the 1st corresponds to the second dose of SCR, described above, and the 2nd corresponds to the first against varicella)

Age: 15 months

DTP (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis)

Vaccination scheme: 2 pentavalent boosters

Age: 1st booster at 15 months and 2nd booster at 4 years

DT (diphtheria and tetanus)

Vaccination schedule: 3 doses

Age: from 7 years, take every 10 years. In case of serious injuries, every 5 years

Hepatitis A

Vaccination schedule: 1 dose

Age: 15 months

Chicken pox

Vaccination schedule: 1 dose (corresponds to the second dose of chicken pox)

Age: 4 years

ACWY meningococcal

Vaccination schedule: 1 dose

Age: 11 and 12 years (until June 2023 temporarily also available for 13 and 14 year olds)

Quadrivalent HPV

Vaccination scheme: 2 doses (the 2nd is applied 6 months later)

Age: 9 to 14 for girls and boys

Influenza (flu)

Vaccination schedule: annual dose

Age: from 6 months

COVID-19

– Pfizer Baby: applied to children from 6 months to 4 years and 11 months of age. Scheme in 3 doses, with an interval of 4 weeks between the first 2 and eight weeks between the second and third.

Pediatric Pfizer: applied to children aged 5 to 11 years. Scheme in two doses, with an interval of 21 days. The booster (third dose) is applied four months after the second dose.

– CoronaVac: applied to children aged 3 to 11 years. Scheme in two doses, with an interval of 28 days. The current guideline is for the booster (third dose) to be from Pfizer, applied four months after the second dose.

The available Covid-19 vaccine varies according to the place of immunization.
